Patalpani-Kalakund Heritage Train Now Runs 5 Days a Week
The Western Railway Ratlam Division has officially expanded the operational frequency of the Patalpani-Kalakund Heritage Train. In response to the surging demand from tourists, the service will now operate five days every week, providing much better accessibility to the region's scenic beauty.
New Weekly Operational Schedule
The official announcement regarding the expanded service was made on Monday, September 28, 2026. Previously, the heritage train operated only three days a week. Under the new schedule, passengers can now enjoy the journey on the following days:
- Tuesday
- Wednesday
- Friday
- Saturday
- Sunday
Consistency in Timings and Pricing
While the frequency of the service has increased significantly, travelers will not face any changes to their existing travel plans. Mukesh Kumar, the Public Relations Officer for the Western Railway Ratlam Division, confirmed that the expansion does not impact the core logistics of the journey. Specifically:
- Train Timings: There are no adjustments to the arrival or departure times.
- Coach Positions: The arrangement of coaches remains exactly as it was.
- Ticket Costs: Existing ticket prices remain unchanged.
- Itinerary: The transit route and stops remain the same.
The decision to increase the number of weekly trips is part of the administration's ongoing commitment to promoting regional tourism. The route, which passes through the breathtaking landscapes near Patalpani and Kalakund, is a major highlight for visitors, especially during the monsoon season.
