Patliputra-Lokmanya Tilak Express: New Gahmar Halt Approved!

Commuters traveling on the Patliputra-Lokmanya Tilak Superfast Express are set to benefit from a new service enhancement. The Ministry of Railways has officially approved an experimental two-minute halt for the train at Gahmar station, located within the Danapur Division.
Experimental Halt at Gahmar Station
The decision to include this stoppage comes after significant advocacy. East Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Saraswati Chandra announced that the move follows a formal request submitted to the Railway Minister by Nalanda MP Kaushalendra Kumar, alongside support from JDU state spokesperson Vineet Kumar Tiwari.
This experimental halt is intended to serve local passengers, providing a brief window for boarding and alighting at Gahmar station.
New Schedule for Train No. 12142
For the outbound journey, the Patliputra-Lokmanya Tilak Superfast Express (Train No. 12142) will implement the new schedule starting October 6, 2026. The updated timings at Gahmar are as follows:
- Arrival at Gahmar: 12:44 PM
- Departure from Gahmar: 12:46 PM
New Schedule for Train No. 12141
The return service, the Lokmanya Tilak-Patliputra Superfast Express (Train No. 12141), will begin its experimental halt on October 7, 2026. The scheduled timings are:
- Arrival at Gahmar: 1:20 AM
- Departure from Gahmar: 1:22 AM
Revised Timings for Buxar Station
The introduction of the Gahmar stop will necessitate slight changes to the arrival and departure times for the return service at other stations. Consequently, starting October 7, 2026, the timings for Train No. 12141 at Buxar station have been revised:
- Arrival at Buxar: 1:36 AM
- Departure from Buxar: 1:38 AM
