The situation outside the station tracks is equally dire. The local railway colony has been severely impacted, with water levels inside residential quarters surging to four to five feet. Beyond the logistical disruption, families living in the railway colony are facing a terrifying secondary threat: the infiltration of poisonous snakes into their homes due to the rising floodwaters. Railway employees are struggling to manage the crisis as the water shows little sign of receding.

The deluge has affected the entire city, with the Bakshi Bandh-Daraganj area witnessing dangerous conditions. Water police were recently deployed to rescue occupants of a car that was swept away by strong currents on Riverfront Road. Local observers and commuters have expressed deep frustration, noting that despite the annual recurrence of such severe flooding, authorities have yet to implement a permanent drainage solution for the station and the surrounding areas. As the monsoon continues, the lack of robust infrastructure remains a major concern for both railway passengers and city residents.
