New Puja Special Trains: Anand Vihar-Bhagalpur & Rishikesh-Kolkata
To tackle the massive surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Dussehra and Chhath festivals, Indian Railways has announced the introduction of two pairs of Puja Special trains. These new services are designed to alleviate congestion on regular routes and provide travelers with better chances of securing confirmed tickets while moving between Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.
Anand Vihar Terminal to Bhagalpur Special Services
The first set of special services will connect Anand Vihar Terminal with Bhagalpur, providing essential connectivity through Gaya Junction.
Train No. 04062: Anand Vihar to Bhagalpur
- Schedule: Departs daily from Anand Vihar at 12:00 PM until November 25.
- Route and Timings:
- DDU: 3:00 AM (next day)
- Gaya Junction: 6:30 AM
- Nawada: 7:52 AM
- Kiul: 10:15 AM
- Arrival: 1:30 PM at Bhagalpur via Jamalpur and Sultanganj.
Train No. 04061: Bhagalpur to Anand Vihar
- Schedule: Departs daily from Bhagalpur at 4:30 PM until November 26.
- Route and Timings:
- Kiul: 7:05 PM
- Nawada: 8:23 PM
- DDU: 2:10 AM (next day)
- Arrival: 8:00 PM at Anand Vihar Terminal.
Yog Nagari Rishikesh to Kolkata Special Services
The second pair of Puja Special trains will serve passengers traveling from Uttarakhand towards West Bengal, with scheduled halts at Gaya Junction.
Train No. 04312: Yog Nagari Rishikesh to Kolkata
- Schedule: Departs every Friday from Yog Nagari Rishikesh at 10:20 PM, operating from October 16 to November 20.
- Route and Timings:
- DDU: 5:40 PM (Saturday)
- Gaya Junction: 8:50 PM
- Koderma: 10:13 PM
- Arrival: 8:00 AM (Sunday) at Kolkata via NSCB Gomoh and Dhanbad.
Train No. 04311: Kolkata to Yog Nagari Rishikesh
- Schedule: Departs every Sunday from Kolkata at 1:55 PM, operating from October 18 to November 22.
- Route and Timings:
- Dhanbad: 8:45 PM
- Koderma: 11:38 PM
- Gaya Junction: 12:25 AM (Monday)
- Arrival: 11:30 PM at Yog Nagari Rishikesh via Sasaram and DDU.
These additional services are strategically implemented to manage the festive rush and ensure smoother travel for thousands of passengers during the holiday season.
