13 Puja Special Trains to Connect Bihar This Festive Season

To manage the massive surge in passenger traffic expected during the upcoming holidays, Indian Railways has announced the introduction of 13 pairs of Puja Special trains. These services are specifically aimed at facilitating travel to Bihar throughout October and November 2026, ensuring smoother journeys for those heading home for the festivities.

The initiative is part of a much larger nationwide plan. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that over 12,000 special trains have been approved across the country to accommodate more than 1 crore passengers during this busy period.

Key Routes and Service Details

The special services will originate from several major transit hubs, including Firozpur, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Anand Vihar. Some of these routes have been extended to provide long-distance connectivity to destinations such as Podanur and Ernakulam.

For passengers traveling specifically to Bihar, the following services have been scheduled:

  • New Delhi to Supaul (04072/04071): A high-frequency service offering 118 trips.
  • Anand Vihar Terminal to Bhagalpur (04062/04061): Scheduled for 94 trips.
  • Chandigarh to Patna (04512/04511): Will operate for 18 trips.
  • Firozpur Cantt to Patna (04616/04615): Scheduled for 16 trips.

Additionally, services connecting Sasaram and Danapur to Hyderabad and Charlapalli had already commenced on October 3, 2026.
