They provided detailed briefings to the board official on the current status of the construction work. The initiative remains a significant infrastructure priority for Indian Railways as it works to expand the network in eastern India.

President Droupadi Murmu in December 2024. The venture was originally approved in 2023 as part of a broader set of three major railway projects in Odisha.
The entire undertaking involves a total sanctioned investment of ₹6,200 crore, while the Bangriposi-Gurumahisani line alone received a dedicated budget allocation of ₹2,549 crore.
