Beyond route expansions, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is taking significant steps to improve the passenger experience. IRCTC has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Quality Council of India. This initiative is aimed at elevating hygiene and safety standards across all catering units through rigorous third-party inspections.
This period of operational growth also coincides with a leadership transition within the organization. Raj Kumar Verma has been appointed as the new Group General Manager of IRCTC, a role he officially assumed on October 15, 2026.
