Vaishnav elaborated that the railways received a gross budgetary support of 2.5 lakh crore rupees. He pointed out the extensive efforts made over the past decade under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which included railway electrification, the construction of new tracks, station improvements, and enhanced safety measures, all contributing to a comprehensive development approach.

New Initiatives and Technological Advancements

The budget introduced new projects worth 4.60 lakh crore rupees, focusing on creating new railway lines, workshops, and maintenance practices. Notably, the announcement included the launch of 100 new Amrit Bharat trains, offering travel for 450 rupees over 1,000 km, alongside the introduction of Vande Bharat services. Regarding the much-anticipated bullet train, Vaishnav reported that construction on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Line is progressing, with 340 km already completed.
