Railway police arrest two suspects for robbing elderly passenger on Ranikhet Express

Railway authorities have successfully solved a daring onboard robbery within 24 hours of the incident by arresting two individuals identified as Dilshad alias Badka and Mohammad Hasan alias Golu. The swift police action comes as a major relief for train travelers concerned about safety. Below are the key details of the incident and the subsequent police operation. The crime took place aboard the Ranikhet Express train number 15013 while traveling from Ajmer to Delhi. The victim was a 67-year-old female resident of Ajmer traveling in coach A-2 who sustained a hand injury during the encounter. The perpetrators snatched her purse containing a mobile phone, 15000 rupees in cash, an Aadhaar card, a charger, and a gold chain while the train was moving near Sarai Rohilla. Law enforcement authorities solved the case within 24 hours by examining approximately 20 CCTV recordings from the area between Patel Nagar and the Zakhira flyover.

Swift Investigation Leads to Arrests

Investigators utilized extensive surveillance footage which captured the suspects boarding and deboarding a slow-moving train in the Nehru Nagar locality. This crucial visual evidence allowed the police to successfully identify Dilshad. Following his initial arrest, law enforcement teams tracked down and apprehended his accomplice Mohammad Hasan near the Indralok underpass.

Recovery of Stolen Valuables

During the thorough recovery process, police seized a gold necklace weighing approximately 56 grams along with the mobile phone belonging to the elderly victim. Furthermore, officers managed to recover a separate gold chain linked to an unrelated criminal case from the possession of the two suspects.
