Heavy rainfall has wreaked havoc on the railway infrastructure in Chhattisgarh. A railway track collapsed in the Balod district following 36 hours of continuous, heavy rain, causing significant disruptions to train movements on the Durg-Dalli Rajhara section.
Damage Near Iraguda and Sikosa
The track failure occurred between the Latabord and Gundardehi stations, specifically impacting the area near Iraguda and Sikosa. The relentless downpour left the section vulnerable, leading to the structural collapse of the rails.
Raipur Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Dayanand, along with senior officials, personally inspected the damaged site to oversee the situation. While the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has been deployed to secure the area, engineering teams are working urgently to carry out repair operations and restore normalcy.

The collapse and subsequent waterlogging have led to several service changes and cancellations. Passengers traveling through the Durg-Dalli Rajhara section are advised to take note of the following disruptions:
- 78817 (Durg-Dalli Rajhara DDM Passenger): This train was forced to wait at Gundardehi station for approximately three hours due to the track condition.
- 78815 (Raipur-Antagarh): Fully cancelled.
- 68764 (Raipur-Tadoki): Fully cancelled.
- 68765 (Tadoki-Raipur): Fully cancelled.
- 78816 (Antagarh-Raipur): Service has been cancelled between Dalli Rajhara and Raipur.
- 78818 (Antagarh-Durg): The service between Antagarh and Dalli Rajhara has been cancelled; the train will now commence its journey from Dalli Rajhara.
