Raipur Railway Division announces MEMU train halts suspension and ticket drive
The Raipur Railway Division has announced important operational changes and strict enforcement drives across its network to streamline services and curb ticketless travel. Regular commuters on the busy Raipur-Durg section need to plan their journeys carefully following recent updates regarding train halts and intensive ticket checking operations.
The Raipur Railway Division has temporarily suspended 11 MEMU passenger train halts at C and D cabins from September 6 to September 12. These service adjustments have been implemented specifically to prioritize passenger convenience and uphold high railway safety standards during this operational window. Passengers are advised to check updated schedules before heading to the stations.
Intensive Ticket Inspection Drive
Alongside operational adjustments, the division recently carried out a massive ticket checking campaign under the direct supervision of Railway Magistrate Mayank Soni. The high-profile inspection team also featured Assistant Commercial Manager (Coaching) Avinash Kumar Anand, along with dedicated personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP).
The checking drive focused heavily on several key long-distance and mail express trains operating through the division. The targeted services included the Durg-Ara South Bihar Express (13287), the Visakhapatnam-Korba Link Express (18518), the Chhattisgarh Express (18237), and the popular Jan Shatabdi Express (12069).
Penalties Collected From Violators
During this magistrate-led checking operation, railway authorities cracked down firmly on ticketless and irregular travel. A total of 121 passengers were apprehended for traveling without valid tickets, holding irregular tickets, or carrying unbooked luggage. As a direct result of these rule violations, authorities successfully collected a total fine of ₹78,875 from the defaulting passengers on the spot.
