Raipur-Sambalpur Rail Link: ₹6.5 Crore Sanctioned for New Bypass Survey!
The Indian Railways has announced a significant budgetary sanction of ₹6.5 crore to facilitate a survey for a new bypass line. This move represents a strategic modification to the existing construction roadmap for the Raipur-Sambalpur railway line.
Strategic Shift to Ease Station Congestion
To address the mounting traffic congestion at Sambalpur Railway Station, officials have proposed a new routing strategy. The plan involves constructing a 'Y' connection bypass between Gaorbhaga and Maneswar.
Under this revised framework, the Raipur-Sambalpur line is intended to originate from Maneswar rather than Sambalpur, ensuring smoother operations and reduced pressure on the station infrastructure.
Decision Finalized by ECoR Officials
The sanction was formalized during a meeting in Bhubaneswar, chaired by the General Manager of the Eastern Coast Railway (ECoR). During the session, the railway department also addressed and accepted various issues raised by the Principal Chief Operations Manager (PCOM).
A Long-Awaited Milestone
This development is a major update for the Raipur-Sambalpur Rail Line Construction Struggle Committee Saraypali, which has been actively campaigning for this infrastructure for the last six years.
According to committee convenor Dilip Gupta and organization secretary Abhijit Pratihar, this survey sanction marks a significant step forward in meeting the long-standing infrastructure demands of the region.
