Rewari-Jaipur Express Corridor: New Railway Projects for Rajasthan
Major new railway lines in Rajasthan, including the Rewari-Jaipur corridor, are progressing through the final survey and approval stages.

Rajasthan is poised for a significant transformation in its transport infrastructure as several major railway projects advance through critical planning and survey phases. These proposed lines aim to bridge connectivity gaps and accelerate industrial growth across the state.
The Rewari-Jaipur Express Corridor
One of the most anticipated projects is the proposed 191-km railway line designed to connect Rewari in Haryana to Jaipur in Rajasthan via Neemrana. This project is envisioned as a high-speed express corridor that promises to revolutionize travel between Delhi and Jaipur.
If completed, the new route is expected to provide several key benefits:
- Reduced Travel Time: Commuters could potentially save between 1 to 1.5 hours on the journey between Delhi and Jaipur.
- Industrial Connectivity: The line will provide vital links to key areas within the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, specifically Neemrana, Behror, and Kotputli.
The Railway Board has already sanctioned the Final Location Survey (FLS) and the preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this route. In an effort to speed up the process, Jaipur Rural MP Rao Rajendra Singh met with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in late October 2026 to advocate for the project's rapid implementation.
Suratgarh-Ratangarh Connectivity Project
In addition to the Jaipur corridor, there is a long-standing demand for a new railway line in North-West Rajasthan. This proposed route would connect Suratgarh to Ratangarh via Pallu and Sardarshahr.
The strategic importance of this line lies in its ability to link the Bikaner-Bathinda and Bikaner-Ratangarh-Rewari routes, creating a more integrated network for the region. Much like the Rewari-Jaipur project, this initiative is currently awaiting the results of official surveys and final government approval.
Current Status and Next Steps
While the planning is moving forward, no official construction timeline has been established as of early November 2026. Authorities are currently prioritizing several technical and administrative milestones:
- Finalizing the precise technical alignment of the tracks.
- Managing the complex process of land acquisition.
- Securing all necessary technical and governmental approvals.
