A suspected explosion on the Anupgarh-Suratgarh line near the India-Pakistan border has damaged tracks and halted train services in Rajasthan.

A suspected explosion has caused significant damage to the railway track on the Anupgarh-Suratgarh line, located near the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan. This Rajasthan railway track blast occurred near 50 GB village in the Sri Ganganagar district, leading to an immediate suspension of train services in the area.
Infrastructure Damage and Timing
The incident took place on the night of Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The blast occurred approximately 45 minutes after a passenger train had successfully traversed the section. The force of the explosion was significant, resulting in the destruction of two concrete railway sleepers and leaving a two-foot-deep pit in the ground beneath the tracks.
Massive Security Deployment
Sri Ganganagar Superintendent of Police (SP) Harishankar arrived at the site to oversee the initial inspection. Due to the sensitive location near the border, a massive security operation has been launched to secure the area and collect evidence. Multiple specialized agencies are currently on-site, including:
- Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS)
- Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
- Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) experts
- Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS)
- Dog squads
Train Services Suspended
As a precautionary measure, railway operations on the Anupgarh-Suratgarh route have been suspended, and two scheduled passenger trains have been canceled. While investigations are ongoing, authorities have explicitly stated that there is currently no confirmed link between this explosion and the 7.5 kilograms of RDX that was recently recovered in the border region. The track remains cordoned off pending a formal safety clearance from security agencies.
