Rani Railway Station Redevelopment Nears Completion Under Amrit Bharat Scheme

The modernization of Rani Railway Station in Rajasthan has reached a significant milestone as project completion surpassed 80 percent by August 19, 2026. This redevelopment project is a part of the nationwide Amrit Bharat Station Scheme launched by the Ministry of Railways in December 2022 and is backed by a substantial investment of 15 crore rupees. The station transformation blends modern passenger infrastructure with local cultural heritage, proudly highlighted by the installation of a grand statue of Maharana Pratap at the main entrance.

Key Highlights of Rani Station Redevelopment

Major works finalized at the site include primary platform construction, organized parking facilities, and the installation of tactile pathways specially designed for Divyangjan passengers. Across 15,000 square meters of platform space, railway officials have laid durable Kota stone surfacing. Furthermore, the installation of advanced lighting and digital display systems has achieved 100 percent completion. Construction crews were also actively working on installing a new lift to further enhance accessibility across the platforms.

Progress of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

Ajmer Divisional Railway Manager Raju Bhutada recently conducted on-site inspections and issued strict directives to ensure that all remaining works are expedited without delay. The broader Amrit Bharat Station Scheme features a total projected investment exceeding 71,000 crore rupees, aiming to completely redevelop over 1,300 railway stations into modern city centers. Official figures as of August 8, 2026 indicate that 261 of the 1,340 targeted stations have already been fully modernized under this ambitious nationwide initiative.
