New Train Announcement: Indian Railways to operate Raxaul-Tirupati Express as a permanent service (Raxaul)

The Railway Ministry has officially approved the Raxaul-Tirupati Express as a permanent, year-round service to benefit long-distance travelers. Previously operated as a special train, this weekly express will now provide consistent connectivity between North Bihar and South India. The decision follows the acceptance of a long-standing request by BJP MP Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, aimed at easing travel for pilgrims and traders.

Key features and route of the regular train

The train will cover an approximate distance of 2,800 kilometers within a timeframe of 48 to 50 hours. This regular service is expected to offer fares that are 30 to 40 percent cheaper compared to existing connecting train options on this route. The train, designated with numbers 17434 and 17433, will include a special reservation quota for pilgrims heading to Tirupati Balaji.

Impact on pilgrimage and regional connectivity

The regularization of this service fulfills a 15-year-old demand from the local population and representatives in the Raxaul region. By providing a direct link, the railway ministry aims to foster cultural and religious ties between North India and South Indian shrines. Local leaders have welcomed the move as it resolves long-standing travel difficulties for people in the constituency. This decision eliminates uncertainty about the train’s operation and allows passengers to plan their journeys in advance.
