Revli railway crossing closes for three hours for double tracking work

The Revli railway crossing experienced a temporary three-hour closure on Sunday, September 6th, as part of infrastructure upgrades in Uttar Pradesh. Commuters travelling through the region faced diversions while railway authorities carried out crucial engineering works for network expansion.

The level crossing, officially designated as level crossing number 16 on the Bhatni-Aurihar rail section, remained shut from 12 PM to 3 PM. This scheduled disruption was necessary to facilitate essential machine packing work associated with the ongoing railway double-tracking project in the area. Resident Engineer (Civil) Virendra Kumar had proactively notified the District Magistrate and the local police station in advance regarding this temporary maintenance window.

Traffic Management and Public Convenience

To minimize commuter distress, railway authorities implemented several traffic management measures along the Bhagalpur-Pindi route. Traffic guards were strategically deployed at various diversion points, and clear informative banners were installed to guide motorists safely around the closed section.

Despite these preparatory steps, the closure led to temporary traffic congestion and long queues of vehicles near the site. To maintain smooth transit, local authorities successfully diverted traffic through Lar Road and Ballia village. Additionally, motorists were advised to utilize underpass-30 located at the Belthra end of the crossing as an alternative route.

Railway engineering teams completed the scheduled tasks efficiently within the stipulated timeframe, and normal traffic flow resumed at the Revli railway crossing promptly after the work concluded at 3 PM. Such infrastructure works are vital steps towards boosting line capacity and improving overall train punctuality across the Indian Railways network.
