Rewari-Jaipur Rail Corridor: New 191-KM Route Approved
The Railway Board has approved the DPR and survey for a new 191-km Rewari-Jaipur rail corridor to slash travel time and boost industry.

The Railway Board has officially approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and the Final Location Survey for a new Rewari-Jaipur rail corridor. This 191-kilometer project is set to provide a vital alternative connection between Haryana and Rajasthan, significantly enhancing regional connectivity.
Faster Travel Between Delhi and Jaipur
One of the most significant advantages of this new rail line is the reduction in travel time. By offering an alternative route, the corridor is expected to save passengers between 1 to 1.5 hours of travel time when commuting between Delhi and Jaipur.
The proposed track will pass through several key locations, including:
- Neemrana
- Behror
- Kotputli
- Shahpura
Boosting Industrial and Freight Movement
Beyond passenger convenience, the corridor is designed to support the regional economy by streamlining logistics. The new line is anticipated to improve freight transportation for critical sectors, such as:
- Neemrana: Providing better connectivity for the major industrial region.
- Kotputli: Strengthening the supply chain for the local cement industry.
Project Status and Next Steps
The progress of this project follows a recent meeting between Jaipur Rural MP Rao Rajendra Singh and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss its development. While the approval for the survey and DPR marks a major milestone, the project is still in its planning stages.
Officials have noted that the total project cost and the final construction authorization have not yet been determined. Specific details regarding the budget and the construction timeline will be finalized once the comprehensive DPR process is completed.
