Northern Railway Operates Festival Special Train Between Rishikesh and Muzaffarpur

To assist passengers during the upcoming Diwali and Chhath Puja festive season, Northern Railway has officially announced the operation of a weekly festival special train connecting Yog Nagari Rishikesh in Uttarakhand and Muzaffarpur Junction in Bihar. This special service is introduced to manage the heavy rush and ensure comfortable travel for pilgrims and holidaymakers traveling between the two states. The newly announced service operates with specific schedules and a comprehensive coach composition to cater to diverse travel needs.
The special train is designated as the 04314/04313 Yog Nagari Rishikesh – Muzaffarpur Junction Weekly Reserved Special and will operate for a total of nine trips in each direction.
Train number 04314 will depart from Yog Nagari Rishikesh every Sunday from October 4, 2026, to November 29, 2026, at 15:20 (3:20 PM) and is scheduled to reach Muzaffarpur at 11:45 the next day.
In the return direction, train number 04313 will leave Muzaffarpur every Monday from October 5, 2026, to November 30, 2026, at 13:15 (1:15 PM) and arrive at Yog Nagari Rishikesh at 11:15 the following day.
Route and Coach Details
For the convenience of travelers across multiple regions, both up and down services will halt at several major railway stations. The designated stops include Haridwar Junction, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Gonda, Basti, Gorakhpur, Siwan, Chhapra, Sonpur, and Hajipur railway stations.
To accommodate varying budgets and passenger requirements, the train is equipped with a versatile coach composition comprising AC, sleeper, and general class coaches. Passengers are advised to book their tickets well in advance through the IRCTC portal or authorized reservation counters to secure confirmed berths during the peak festival rush.
