Saharsa Railway Station redevelopment: New building and modern facilities now open for passengers
The Ministry of Railways shared updates on April 3, 2026, regarding the significant redevelopment of Saharsa Junction in Bihar. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the station has been upgraded with a new building and modern passenger amenities. The project, which cost approximately 44 crore, aims to improve the travel experience and streamline railway operations in the region.

Key Modern Facilities at Saharsa Station
The redevelopment project has introduced several new features designed for passenger comfort and better station management. The station now has a larger circulating area and a wide foot overbridge to handle heavy crowds efficiently. The waiting halls have been modernized to provide a better environment for travelers during transit.

The Ministry has already granted approval for the doubling of the 41-kilometer Saharsa-Mansi railway section.
