South East Central Railway launches live train monitoring system in Bilaspur division

The South East Central Railway is taking a major step towards modernizing train operations by introducing a brand new technological upgrade for passengers and staff alike. The South East Central Railway inaugurated a state-of-the-art Live Train Monitoring System at its Bilaspur division on August 31 2026. The new system was officially launched by SECR General Manager Tarun Prakash to enhance the safety speed transparency and overall efficiency of rail operations across the region.
The inauguration event was attended by several senior officials including Principal Chief Signal and Telecommunications Engineer G.P. Khute Principal Chief Operations Manager K.K. Sinha and Bilaspur Divisional Railway Manager Rakesh Ranjan. This modern initiative brings several key operational advantages to the railway network.
Advanced Technology for Better Control
Installed within the divisional control office the system features the largest ultra-narrow-bezel video wall currently in use by Indian Railways. This cutting-edge technology provides a comprehensive real-time visualization of train movements and signaling status. By centralizing critical operational data the system enables control office staff to assess train status instantaneously and make informed rapid decisions during heavy traffic or emergencies.
Coverage and Key Functions
The system is configured to monitor a total of 59 stations comprising 47 stations within the Bilaspur division and 12 stations under the Raipur division. Key functions of this monitoring setup include automated tracking of trains across various sectors integrated visualization of station yards and block sections and a centralized display of vital operational information. This development marks a proud milestone in the digital transformation journey of Indian Railways ensuring smoother journeys for daily commuters and freight operators.
