South East Central Railway runs Raksha Bandhan special train between Durg and Raigarh

The South East Central Railway has introduced a special train service to help passengers travel easily during the festive season. The Raipur Rail Division of South East Central Railway has launched the Raksha Bandhan Passenger Special train to manage heavy passenger rush. This special service will operate for three trips from August 27 to August 29, 2026, providing much-needed relief to commuters heading home to celebrate the festival with their families.

Train Schedule and Timings

Train number 08834 departs from Durg at 10:30 AM, arriving in Raipur at 11:25 AM, Bilaspur at 2:45 PM, and reaching its final destination Raigarh at 7:00 PM. For the return journey, train number 08833 departs from Raigarh at 7:40 PM, arriving in Bilaspur at 10:20 PM, Raipur at 12:40 AM the following day, and finally arriving back at Durg at 2:00 AM.

Coach Composition and Stoppages

The special train is composed of 10 ICF coaches, featuring eight general coaches and two SLR/D coaches. To ensure maximum convenience for local commuters, the train has been given numerous scheduled halts along the route. It will stop at Bhilai Nagar, Bhilai Power House, Bhilai, Devbaloda Charoda, Kumhari, Sarona, Saraswati Nagar, Raipur, WRS, Urukura, Mandhar, Siliari, Baikunth, Tilda-Nevra, Hathbandh, Bhatapara, Nipanija, Dagori, Bilha, Chakkarbhata, Dadhapara, Bilaspur, Gatora, Jairamnagar, Akaltara, Janjgir-Naila, Champa, Saragaon-Devri, Budhar, Sakti, Jardih, Kharsia, Robertson, Bhupdeopur, and Kirodimal Nagar stations in both directions.
