The South East Central Railway Raipur Division announced a special passenger train to manage the increased travel demand during the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival. This dedicated service will operate from August 27 to August 29, 2026, ensuring smooth and convenient connectivity between Durg and Raigarh for families celebrating the festival together. Train number 08834 will complete three round trips during its operational window, offering much-needed relief to regular commuters and festive travellers alike.

According to the official railway schedule, the special train will depart from Durg at 10:30 AM and reach Raigarh at 7:00 PM. To accommodate general travellers and ensure accessibility, the rake will consist of 10 ICF coaches, specifically configured with eight general class coaches and two Seating cum Luggage Rake coaches. The latter are specially equipped to cater to passengers with disabilities, ensuring an inclusive journey for everyone.

Comprehensive Route and Station Halts

Throughout its journey, the special service will provide scheduled stops at numerous stations to facilitate boarding and deboarding for passengers across the route. The train will halt at Bhilai Nagar, Bhilai Power House, Bhilai, Devbhalocharoda, Kumhari, Saron, Saraswati Nagar, Raipur, WRS, Urkura, Mandhar, Siliyari, Baikunth, Tilda-Nevra, Hathband, Bhatapara, Nipania, Dagori, Bilha, Chakkarbhata, Dadapara, Bilaspur, Gatora, Jairamnagar, Akaltara, Janjgir-Naila, Champa, Saragaon-Deori, Budhar, Sakti, Jardih, Kharsia, Robertson, Bhupdevpur, and Kirodimal Nagar. Passengers are advised to check exact platform details and timings at their respective boarding stations before arrival.
