Four railway stations in Sikar district undergo modernization under Amrit Bharat Scheme
Development work is currently underway at four major railway stations in the Sikar district of Rajasthan as part of the ambitious Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. These stations include Sikar, Ringas, Nimkathana, and Fatehpur Shekhawati. The total investment for this infrastructure overhaul exceeds 66 crore rupees, transforming passenger amenities and travel experiences across the region.
According to official ministry updates, key highlights of the ongoing upgrade projects include:
- Installation of modern waiting halls for passenger comfort
- Addition of new lifts and escalators for easy platform navigation
- Construction of new foot-over bridges to ensure safe pedestrian movement
- Implementation of smart ticketing systems to reduce waiting times
Current Progress Status
As of the latest progress reports, all development tasks at the Fatehpur Shekhawati railway station have been successfully completed. Meanwhile, the remaining three stations are progressing rapidly, having reached approximately 85 percent completion in their respective renovation efforts. Railway authorities are closely monitoring the sites to ensure timely delivery of all promised facilities.

This local upgrade forms an integral part of a broader national effort by the Ministry of Railways to modernize 1,334 stations across India at a total cost of one lakh crore rupees.
