102 Festival Special Trains via Solapur for Dussehra & Diwali
To manage the massive influx of passengers during the upcoming festive season, Indian Railways has announced the operation of 102 festival special train trips through the Solapur Division. This significant expansion of service is aimed at easing the heavy travel rush expected during the Dussehra and Diwali festivities between October and November 2026.
Travelers looking to secure their seats can begin booking through the official channels starting from September 27, 2026.
Mumbai to Chennai Weekly Special Service
One of the key services announced is the weekly special connecting Mumbai and Chennai. This route will conduct six trips in each direction to accommodate long-distance travelers.
- From CSMT Mumbai: Departures are scheduled for Wednesdays from October 14 to November 18 at 00:35 hrs.
- From Chennai Beach: Return services will depart on Thursdays from October 15 to November 19 at 04:00 hrs.
- Key Stops: This service will serve Dadar, Thane, Pune, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Guntakal, Renigunta, and Perambur.
CSMT Mumbai to Latur Bi-Weekly Service
For those traveling towards the Marathwada region, the CSMT Mumbai–Latur bi-weekly service will operate 13 trips in each direction. This service is scheduled to run from October 13 to November 24.
- Departure from CSMT: Trains will leave on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 00:35 hrs.
- Return from Latur: The return journey is set for 16:30 hrs on the same days, arriving back in Mumbai at 04:10 hrs the following morning.
- Key Stops: Major stations on this route include Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Daund, Kurduwadi, and Dharashiv.
Kolhapur to Kalaburagi Special Trains
The Solapur Division will also operate a high-frequency service between Kolhapur and Kalaburagi. A total of 64 trips (32 in each direction) will be conducted between October 10 and November 15, excluding Fridays.
- Kolhapur Departure: 06:10 hrs.
- Kalaburagi Departure: 18:10 hrs.
- Key Stops: The trains will stop at Miraj Junction, Sangola, Pandharpur, Kurduwadi, and Solapur.
