Solar Lighting for Ghazipur Stations Boosts Safety

Indian Railways is taking a major step toward sustainable infrastructure by implementing solar lighting at Ghazipur stations to enhance passenger safety and visibility.

The recent initiative aims to provide consistent illumination, ensuring that commuters are not left in the dark during nighttime hours or unexpected power failures.

As part of this modernization drive, the Patna-based Engineering Department has successfully installed a total of 80 solar-powered lights across two key locations. Both Dildarnagar and Zamaniyan railway stations have received 40 units each.

These advanced lighting solutions offer several critical advantages for travelers:

  • High-Efficiency Output: Each unit is a powerful 80-watt solar light.
  • Smart Sensor Technology: The lights are sensor-based, meaning they automatically activate at dusk and deactivate at dawn.
  • Reliable Backup: Because they operate on solar energy, these lights remain functional even during power outages, providing a reliable lighting solution for the platform.

Upcoming Improvements for Passenger Navigation

The upgrades at Dildarnagar and Zamaniyan extend beyond just lighting. To further assist travelers in navigating the station premises, officials have confirmed that new platform indication boards will be installed at these stations in the near future.

This push for sustainable infrastructure is designed to resolve previous lighting deficiencies, creating a safer and more convenient environment for the thousands of passengers traveling through the region every day.
