Sonebhadra Rail Traffic Disruption: Goods Train Failure Hits Expresses
A technical failure in a goods train engine near Agori Khas caused a Sonebhadra rail traffic disruption, delaying several express trains.

A major Sonebhadra rail traffic disruption occurred on the Chopan-Chunar line on Sunday morning after a loaded goods train suffered a technical engine failure near Agori Khas railway station. The technical snag rendered the single-line track impassable, bringing rail operations to a complete standstill for approximately two and a half hours.
Major Express Trains Hit by Delays
The sudden breakdown caused a ripple effect across the network, leaving several passenger services stranded and causing significant inconvenience to commuters. The Prayagraj-Chopan Express, which had departed from Chopan at 6:00 AM, was held up at the outer signal of Agori station for a substantial 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Other key services also faced heavy delays due to the gridlock:
- Tata-Jammu Tawi Express: This train was detained at Chopan station starting from 5:30 AM.
- Triveni Express: The service was forced to halt at Churk station beginning at 7:00 AM.
Passengers experienced considerable frustration as trains were held at various stations and outer signals while waiting for the track to be cleared.
Normal Operations Resume After Clearance
Railway authorities worked urgently to resolve the technical fault and clear the obstruction from the line. Normal rail operations finally resumed at approximately 8:30 AM on Sunday. Following the successful clearance of the track, the affected trains were permitted to proceed to their respective destinations in a sequential manner.
