Senior railway officials visited Bihar to review station upgrades and address public grievances regarding local agricultural transport. On Saturday, Sonpur Railway Division General Manager Dimpy Garg and Divisional Railway Manager Amit Sharan conducted a comprehensive site inspection of the new station building under construction at Karhagola railway station as part of the ambitious Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. They were accompanied by representatives from various railway departments. During the visit, General Manager Dimpy Garg conducted a detailed, door-to-door check of the ongoing construction work to review structural development and passenger amenities planning.
The railway administration is focusing on fast-tracking infrastructure upgrades across the division.
GM Dimpy Garg instructed officials to accelerate the pace of work while ensuring high quality within the designated timeline. The General Manager emphasized that the project must be completed on schedule so that improved passenger facilities become available to the public without unnecessary delays.
Apart from inspecting infrastructure progress, the railway leadership also listened to local grievances.
Bhagwat Prasad Bhagat, a member of the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee, submitted a formal application to GM Dimpy Garg regarding issues faced by local farmers. Bhagat explained that the iron barrier installed at the underpass near Karhagola station is at a low height, preventing large agricultural vehicles from passing through. This restriction forces farmers to take long alternative routes, leading to increased transport costs and shipping delays for their agricultural produce. In response, Bhagwat Prasad Bhagat requested that the GM authorize an increase in the height of the iron barrier to facilitate the smooth movement of agricultural tractors and transport vehicles.
GM Dimpy Garg acknowledged the severity of the farmers' concerns and instructed the relevant officials to investigate the matter urgently, assuring a swift resolution. Local farmers and representatives have expressed optimism and relief following the positive assurance given by the General Manager.
