Southeast Railway Adds Extra Coaches to 6 Trains, Enhancing Passenger Capacity from February 6 to 12 Amid Rising Demand
Additional Coaches for Increased Passenger Capacity
South Eastern Railway has announced the addition of extra coaches on various trains from the Ranchi Railway Division and Santragachhi station, effective from 6 to 12 February. This decision aims to accommodate the large crowd of passengers expected during this period, allowing them to secure confirmed tickets. The additional coaches will enhance capacity across multiple trains, ensuring a smoother travel experience for passengers.
Specific Train Modifications
Several trains will receive specific enhancements during the specified dates. Train number 18183 Tatanagar Ara Express will feature an additional AC chair car coach on 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 February. Similarly, the Chakradharpur Adra Howrah Express (train number 18011) will have a sleeper coach added on 6, 7, and 8 February, while the Howrah Adra Chakradharpur Express (train number 18012) and Bokaro Steel City – Howrah Express (train number 18014) will both receive additional sleeper coaches on 9 February. The Howrah – Jagdalpur Samleshwari Express (train number 18005) will also have an extra three-tier sleeper coach available on 6 February.
Tatanagar Station Redevelopment Plans
In addition to the modifications in train services, Tatanagar station is set to undergo significant redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Scheme, with an investment of Rs 348 crore. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced this initiative via video conferencing, stating that EPC tenders for the project have been invited, with the tender opening scheduled for 9 April. This redevelopment is expected to enhance the station’s facilities and overall passenger experience in the future.
