Indian Railways launches special train service between Delhi Sarai Rohilla and Ashoknagar

Indian Railways has officially announced the operation of a new special train service connecting Delhi Sarai Rohilla and Ashoknagar to accommodate the significant surge in passenger traffic and devotees traveling to the Anandpur Trust.
Key highlights of the new special train service:
• Train numbers 04004 and 04003 connect Delhi Sarai Rohilla (DEE) and Ashoknagar (ASKN).
• Launched on September 12, 2026.
• Covers a distance of 643 kilometers in approximately 15 hours and 45 minutes.
• Total composition of 24 coaches including one Third AC, two sleeper, 19 general, and two SLR coaches.
Route and Schedule
The train service follows a specific route with key stops, including Bina Junction, Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi Junction (VGLJ), Gwalior Junction, Dhaulpur, Agra Cantt Junction, Mathura Junction, Kosi Kalan, and Faridabad. The addition of a stop at Faridabad is intended to provide transport access to thousands of passengers within the National Capital Region (NCR).
In terms of scheduling, train 04003 departs Ashoknagar at 17:00 and arrives at Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 08:45 the following day.
Important Travel Protocols
Passengers are reminded of several mandatory travel protocols. Only individuals with confirmed tickets are permitted to board, as unreserved (UTS) tickets will not be issued, and no tickets will be provided onboard. Passengers are required to arrive at the station at least 90 minutes prior to departure for thermal screening, must wear face masks throughout the journey, and are expected to maintain social distancing at stations and on board. Only asymptomatic passengers will be authorized to travel, and bookings must be made in advance via the IRCTC portal.
