Festive Rush: 8 Special Train Pairs for Bihar Travel
To manage the massive surge in passenger demand during the upcoming festive season—including Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Puja—Indian Railways has announced the introduction of eight pairs of special trains. These services are specifically designed to connect major northern hubs like Delhi, Chandigarh, Firozpur, and Rishikesh to key destinations in Bihar, including Patna, Muzaffarpur, and Sitamarhi.
Key Routes and Festive Schedules
The new services aim to provide seamless connectivity for passengers traveling home for the holidays. Below are the details of the primary special train services being deployed:
Chandigarh to Patna Festival Special
The Chandigarh-Patna Festival Special (04512/04511) will complete 18 trips to assist commuters. The schedule is as follows:
- Train 04512: Departs Chandigarh every Thursday from October 1 to November 26 at 11:55 pm, arriving in Patna at 9:15 pm the following day.
- Train 04511: Departs Patna every Friday from October 2 to November 27 at 11:15 pm, reaching Chandigarh at 9:40 pm.
This service will make scheduled stoppages at Ambala Cantt, Moradabad, Varanasi, DDU, Buxar, Ara, and Danapur.
Firozpur Cantt to Patna Special
For travelers from the Punjab region, the Firozpur Cantt-Patna Special (04616/04615) will operate 16 trips:
- Outbound: Departs Firozpur every Tuesday from October 6 to November 24.
- Return: Departs Patna every Wednesday from October 7 to November 25.
The route includes stops at Varanasi, DDU, Buxar, Raghunathpur, Ara, and Danapur.
