Surat-Udaipur Vande Bharat Express Starts October 2

Western Railway is all set to enhance connectivity between Gujarat and Rajasthan with the launch of the new Surat Udaipur Vande Bharat Express. This premium service is designed to provide faster and more comfortable travel for tourists, traders, and professionals moving between these two major hubs.
Inaugural Run and Schedule Details
The journey will officially begin with an inaugural special service, train number 09103. This first run is scheduled to depart from Surat at 10:00 AM on October 2, 2026, and is expected to reach Udaipur City by 5:40 PM.
Following the inaugural run, regular commercial operations will commence with the following schedule:
- From Udaipur City: Train number 26904 will begin its service on October 3, 2026. It will depart Udaipur City at 03:35 PM and arrive in Surat at 11:00 PM.
- From Surat: Train number 26903 will start its service on October 4, 2026. It will depart Surat at 06:10 AM and reach Udaipur at 01:40 PM.
The service will operate six days a week, with Tuesdays reserved for necessary maintenance. The 8-coach Vande Bharat rake will cover the approximately 690 km distance in about seven hours and 30 minutes.
Route and Key Halts
The new service will pass through several important stations, making it highly convenient for passengers in the region. The scheduled halts for the train include:
- Bharuch
- Vadodara
- Anand
- Maninagar
- Asarva
- Himmatnagar
- Shamlaji Road
- Dungarpur
- Zawar
To ensure passenger comfort, primary maintenance for the rake will be conducted at Surat, while dedicated water facilities will be available at Vadodara and Asarva stations.
Boosting Trade and Tourism
According to Western Railway CPRO Vineet Abhishek and North Western Railway CPRO Amit Sudarshan, this new service is a strategic move to support the textile and diamond industries, as well as the growing tourism sector in Udaipur. The improved speed and connectivity are expected to benefit a large number of business travelers and holidaymakers.
Important Notice Regarding Existing Services
With the introduction of this new route, passengers should note that the existing Udaipur City-Asarva-Udaipur City Vande Bharat Express (trains 26963/26964) will be discontinued. The final run of the old service will take place on October 1, 2026.
