Tatanagar-Deoghar Special & Extra Coaches for Festive Rush

With the festive season of Diwali and Chhath Puja approaching, Indian Railways is stepping up to manage the massive surge in passenger numbers. To ensure smoother travel for devotees and families, the administration has announced several new special trains and additional coach services across key routes.

New Direct Connectivity: Tatanagar-Deoghar Special

One of the most significant additions is the Tatanagar-Deoghar Special. This new service is designed to establish direct connectivity between Jharkhand and Bihar, making travel much easier for passengers heading to religious sites.

The train will provide crucial service to several important stations, including:

  • Sahibganj
  • Kahalgaon
  • Bhagalpur

South Eastern Railway’s Labha Special Schedule

The South Eastern Railway has also introduced the Tatanagar-Labha-Tatanagar Special to accommodate the seasonal demand. Travelers can plan their journeys based on the following schedule:

Departure from Tatanagar

The train will depart from Tatanagar every Thursday at 1:00 PM. This service will run between November 5 and November 19.

Return from Labha

The return journey from Labha is scheduled for every Friday at 5:20 AM, operating from November 6 to November 20. Passengers can choose from AC, sleeper, and general class accommodations.

Extra Coaches and Additional Festive Specials

To tackle the growing waiting lists, railway authorities are augmenting five major express trains by adding extra sleeper and general second-class coaches. This move aims to provide more seating capacity for passengers during the peak holiday period.

In addition to these, several other special trains have been deployed on various routes to ease the burden, such as:

  • Shalimar-Darbhanga
  • Rourkela-Jhanjharpur
  • Prataptnagar-Santragachi

Crowd Control Measures at Major Stations

To prevent overcrowding, particularly in the national capital, the administration has implemented strict crowd management protocols. These measures include:

  • Temporary restrictions on the sale of platform tickets.
  • A temporary ban on parcel traffic to reduce station congestion.

Railway officials strongly advise all passengers to verify seat availability and real-time train timings through the official IRCTC website or the NTES application before starting their journey.
