Tatanagar Station to Set Up Holding Area for Festive Crowds

In anticipation of the massive surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Durga Puja and Chhath festival, Tatanagar Station is implementing major crowd management strategies. To ensure a smooth experience for commuters and prevent chaos, a dedicated holding area is being established to manage the festive rush effectively.
DRM Inspects Station Readiness
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Chakradharpur Division, Tarun Huria, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the station premises on Friday, October 2, 2026. The inspection was aimed at reviewing security preparations and the readiness of essential infrastructure to handle the holiday influx.
Accompanied by AARM Nitish Kumar and Station Director Sunil Kumar, the DRM assessed the station's capacity to support travelers. To ensure passenger comfort within the temporary holding area, several amenities are being arranged within the staff stand and portico shed, including:
- Seating arrangements with chairs
- Cooling facilities with fans
- Access to drinking water
- Improved sanitation facilities
Heightened Security and Surveillance
Security is being significantly bolstered to prevent unauthorized access and ensure passenger safety. Following directives from South Eastern Zone RPF IG Saurabh Trivedi, a heightened state of vigilance will be maintained through joint duties performed by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP). This deployment will include personnel in plain clothes to monitor the crowds more effectively.
