Tatiri Railway Overbridge Trial Run Begins on Meerut-Baghpat Road
Trial runs have started for the new Tatiri railway overbridge, easing traffic on the Meerut-Baghpat road for commuters and traders.
Commuters on the Meerut-Baghpat road have a major reason to celebrate this festive season. On November 7, 2026, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Choti Diwali, the official trial run for the newly constructed railway overbridge at Agarwal Mandi, Tatiri, was successfully launched.
The trial, which commenced at approximately 10:30 AM, was conducted in the presence of prominent local dignitaries, including the Member of Parliament (MP) and the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA). This milestone marks the beginning of a new era of smoother transit for the region.
Relief from Constant Traffic Congestion
For years, the residents, local traders, and daily commuters of Tatiri have faced significant hardships due to the frequent closure of the Tatiri railway gate. The constant halting of vehicle movement caused persistent traffic congestion, disrupting daily life and business activities along the Meerut-Baghpat route.
The inauguration of this overbridge is designed to provide immediate relief by addressing the following issues:
- Eliminating the bottleneck caused by the railway gate closures.
- Streamlining the flow of heavy and light vehicle traffic.
- Reducing travel time for those commuting between Tatiri town and surrounding villages.
Final Preparations and Infrastructure Readiness
In the hours leading up to the commencement of the trial, final technical preparations were carried out to ensure the bridge was safe for public use. These essential tasks included the installation of electric poles and the completion of critical road markings.
Engineer Sunil Jha, representing the project's executing agency, confirmed that the structure is ready for operation. Following thorough consultations with relevant authorities, it was established that the overbridge is fully prepared to facilitate seamless vehicle movement, providing a much-needed upgrade to the local transport infrastructure.
