GRP seizes large quantity of ganja from Tejas Rajdhani Express at Malda Town

Government Railway Police at Malda Town railway station recovered a massive quantity of contraband from the Down Tejas Rajdhani Express during a late-night operation. GRP seized approximately 40 to 45 kilograms of ganja from the train after it arrived at platform number one on Tuesday night, leading to the prompt arrest of three individuals allegedly involved in narcotics smuggling. All three arrested suspects hail from the neighboring state of Bihar. According to railway police sources, preliminary investigations indicate that the accused were transporting the narcotics from Agartala towards Bihar. However, law enforcement officials are still working to pinpoint the exact origin of the consignment and its intended destination within Bihar. Following their arrest, the suspects were subjected to intensive interrogation by the GRP.

Investigation Into The Smuggling Network

Authorities are actively digging deeper to unearth the wider smuggling network, identifying other potential accomplices, and tracking down the main mastermind behind the operation. Investigators are also examining how the accused managed to sneak the contraband into the premium train and whether an organized inter-state syndicate is operating behind the scenes. The three accused individuals will be produced before the Malda District Court on Wednesday as further legal proceedings continue.
