North Western Railway announces partial cancellation of Udaipur Khajuraho Express

Train passengers planning to travel on the popular Udaipur-Khajuraho route need to update their schedules as the North Western Railway has announced a partial cancellation of train services due to infrastructure upgrade work. This temporary adjustment is necessary to facilitate ongoing technical improvements on Platform No. 01 at the Virangana Laxmibai Junction within the Jhansi Division of the North Central Railway. Train No. 19666 Udaipur City to Khajuraho Express will be short-terminated at Datia station for all departures starting from November 19, 2026, through December 28, 2026, remaining cancelled between Datia and Khajuraho. Similarly, in the return direction, Train No. 19655 Khajuraho to Udaipur City Express will originate its journey from Datia station instead of Khajuraho for services commencing from November 21, 2026, until December 30, 2026. Amit Sudarshan, the Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, has officially confirmed these operational adjustments to ensure passenger safety and system upgradation.

Impact on Passengers and Alternative Planning

Travelers starting their journeys from Bhilwara and heading toward key regional destinations like Khajuraho, Mahoba, and Chhatarpur are strongly advised to factor in these disruptions. The segment between Datia and Khajuraho will remain affected during this multi-week engineering block. Passengers holding advance reservations for the affected dates are encouraged to check their PNR status and plan alternative transportation between Datia and Khajuraho to avoid last-minute inconvenience at the stations.
