Udaipur-Khajuraho Festival Special Train to Run This Diwali

To manage the massive surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Diwali and Chhath Puja festivities, Indian Railways has announced a new festival special train service connecting Udaipur and Khajuraho.
The special service is scheduled to operate for a total of 13 trips, running from October 8, 2026, to November 20, 2026. This move is intended to provide relief to travelers looking to visit family or explore these cultural hubs during the holiday period.
Detailed Train Schedule and Timings
Manoj Kumar Singh, the Public Relations Officer for the Jhansi Division of North Central Railway, provided the specific details regarding the train's weekly operation. The service will run in both directions with different departure days.
Khajuraho to Udaipur Service
- Operating Days: Every Thursday and Monday (from October 8 to November 19).
- Departure: 8:00 PM from Khajuraho.
- Arrival: 5:50 PM at Udaipur the following day.
Udaipur to Khajuraho Service
- Operating Days: Every Friday and Tuesday (from October 9 to November 20).
- Departure: 10:00 PM from Udaipur.
- Arrival: 8:45 PM at Khajuraho the following day.
Route, Stops, and Coach Composition
The festival special train will feature an 18-coach composition to accommodate the expected rush. While the train will pass through several important stations, passengers should be aware that it will not provide a stoppage at Hindaun.

- Jhansi
- Gwalior
- Agra
- Shri Mahaveerji
- Keshoraipatan (Kota)
