Ujjain Simhastha 2028: Railways Unveils ₹3,060 Cr Mega Plan

Indian Railways is gearing up for an unprecedented logistical challenge to support the upcoming Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain. Spearheaded by the Western Railway and the Ratlam Division, a massive crowd management strategy has been launched to accommodate a staggering 10 million passengers every single day.
Massive Budget and Operational Efficiency
To ensure smooth transit during this period of intense pilgrimage, the authorities have allocated a record-breaking budget of ₹3,060 crore. A critical component of this plan is the implementation of a 'no shunting-no reversal' policy at the Ujjain junction. This strategic move is designed to minimize operational delays and ensure that trains move seamlessly through the junction without unnecessary interruptions.
