Railway Infrastructure: Union Cabinet approves 4 multitracking projects worth ₹11,169 crore
The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved four major railway multitracking projects with a total cost of approximately ₹11,169 crore. These projects will expand the rail network by 574 km across 13 districts in six states. The work is expected to be completed by 2028-29 to improve both passenger and freight movement.

- Itarsi – Nagpur 4th Line: Costing ₹5,451 crore, this will help speed up traffic on the Delhi–Chennai corridor.
- Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) – Parbhani Doubling: This project will improve connectivity within Maharashtra.
- Aluabari Road – New Jalpaiguri 3rd and 4th Lines: This will increase capacity in West Bengal and help trains reach the Northeast faster.
- Dangoaposi – Jaroli 3rd and 4th Lines: This expansion will help move iron ore to steel plants in Odisha and Jharkhand.
