UP PET 2026: Indian Railways to Run 13 Special Trains

To ensure smooth travel for thousands of students appearing for the Uttar Pradesh Preliminary Eligibility Test (UP PET) 2026, Indian Railways has announced the deployment of 13 special unreserved trains. These services are specifically designed to accommodate the massive surge of candidates traveling to various examination centers across the state.

Exam Schedule and Shifts

The examination, conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), is scheduled to take place on October 25, October 30, and November 1, 2026. To manage the large number of applicants, the commission has organized the exam in two daily shifts:

Enhanced Passenger Facilities and Safety

The North Central, North Eastern, and Northern Railway zones are working in coordination to manage the logistics. To handle the heavy influx of passengers, railway authorities have implemented several measures at major stations such as Agra Cantt, Agra Fort, Idgah, and Mathura Junction:

  • Establishment of dedicated help desks for candidate assistance.
  • Increased CCTV surveillance to maintain security.
  • Deployment of medical assistance centers.
  • Creation of holding areas to manage crowds effectively.

While these special arrangements are in place, some regular services, including the Gomti Express and Gorakhpur Izzatnagar Express, experienced delays on October 25. Railway officials, including Gagan Goyal (DRM, Agra Division) and other senior officials from the Izzatnagar and Moradabad divisions, are monitoring the situation closely. The administration has maintained the authority to adjust timings or deploy additional rakes based on real-time passenger demand.
