UP PET 2026: Special Trains for Candidates & Festive Boost
Indian Railways to run special trains and extra coaches for UP PET 2026 candidates and festive travelers across Uttar Pradesh.
Indian Railways has announced specialized transport arrangements to assist candidates appearing for the Uttar Pradesh Preliminary Eligibility Test (UP PET) 2026. To accommodate the expected influx of students, the railway administration is deploying additional services and increasing coach capacity across several key routes in the state.
Dedicated Services for Exam Aspirants
The UP PET 2026 examinations are scheduled to take place on October 25, October 30, and November 1. To ensure students can reach their exam centers without difficulty, the North Central Railway is implementing several strategic measures.
- Key Connectivity: Additional train services will be deployed on routes connecting Mathura, Agra, Kanpur, Prayagraj, and Jhansi toward major hubs like Lucknow, Meerut, and Varanasi.
- Lucknow-Moradabad Special: A dedicated unreserved special train is currently being planned to operate between Lucknow and Moradabad.
Senior DCM Mahesh Yadav confirmed that the timetable for the Lucknow-Moradabad service is being finalized to ensure it provides maximum utility for the test-takers.
Managing the Festive Season Rush
In addition to the exam-related arrangements, the railways are preparing for a massive surge in passengers due to the upcoming festive season, including Diwali, Bhai Dooj, and Chhath Puja.
To manage this increased demand, the following capacity enhancements have been confirmed:
- Extra Coaches: During the first and second weeks of November, eight regular trains will have additional sleeper and AC third-tier coaches attached to them.
- Bareilly Route Support: To handle the heavy volume of travelers, ten special trains passing through Bareilly will each have two extra coaches added to their composition.
