Seamless Passenger Movement and Infrastructure

The primary FOB will span 534 meters, connecting the bullet train station to the railway station and the GSRTC bus depot, and will be equipped with travelators. A 90-meter FOB will link the station to the Alkapuri side of the city across existing tracks, while a 51-meter FOB will provide access to parking facilities and the station plaza, complete with lifts and escalators.
The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited has confirmed that slab casting at the concourse, track, and platform levels is finished, with structural steel erection currently in progress by contractor Larsen and Toubro under Package C-5. The architectural design of the station draws inspiration from the banyan tree—a nod to the city’s identity—and features interiors optimized for natural light and sky views. Amenities will include waiting lounges, retail spaces, baby care rooms, restrooms, and designated pick-up and drop-off zones for buses, cars, and auto-rickshaws.
Timeline And Future Outlook
On September 9, 2026, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that India's indigenous bullet train is expected to undergo testing by May or June 2027, with inauguration planned after a subsequent two-to-four-month testing phase. The Surat-Vapi section of the project is projected for completion by December 2026. The Vadodara HSR station itself is targeted for completion by August 2026, aiming to enhance connectivity for commuters between Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Surat, and Mumbai.
