Vande Bharat Cargo Train: Trial runs to begin from April 4 on Delhi-Mumbai route
Indian Railways is preparing to launch a high-speed freight service using the Vande Bharat platform. The first prototype of the Vande Bharat Cargo train has been rolled out from the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. Trial schedule and operational route
The Research Designs and Standards Organisation will start trial tests in the Kota Division from April 4, 2026. These trials are necessary to check the performance and safety of the rake under full load and evaluate emergency braking distances. The first commercial service is planned to run between the Delhi-NCR region and Mumbai. This route will facilitate the quick movement of perishables and pharmaceutical products between these two major hubs.
