Vande Bharat Sleeper Starts Varanasi-Delhi via Aligarh!
The first Vande Bharat Sleeper in UP begins service between Varanasi and New Delhi, featuring a key stop at Aligarh Junction.
The highly anticipated Vande Bharat Sleeper, the first of its kind in Uttar Pradesh, has officially commenced operations. Following a ceremonial flag-off on October 31, 2026, the service is now running between Varanasi and New Delhi, providing a major connectivity boost with a scheduled stop at Aligarh Junction.
The train was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in Varanasi, marking a significant milestone for rail travel in the state.

The inclusion of Aligarh Junction in the train's route is a significant achievement for the local region. Following successful advocacy by local traders and Member of Parliament Satish Gautam, the Ministry of Railways sanctioned the scheduled stop. The arrival of the train in Aligarh has been met with immense enthusiasm from both residents and local officials, who celebrate the improved access to the Delhi-NCR region.

The service operates six days a week, connecting key locations across the route. The train makes scheduled stops at Prayagraj, Kanpur Central, Aligarh, and Ghaziabad.

- Varanasi to New Delhi: The train departs Varanasi at 8:50 PM and arrives at New Delhi at 6:10 AM the following morning.
- New Delhi to Varanasi: The return service departs New Delhi at 9:40 PM and reaches Varanasi at 7:10 AM.
