Vande Bharat Sleeper: New trainset reaches Bengaluru for Mumbai route trials
India’s second Vande Bharat Sleeper trainset arrived at Bengaluru on July 1, 2026. This train will connect Bengaluru and Mumbai, as announced by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in May 2026. The trainset was developed by BEML using technology from the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai.
According to Dr. Manjunath Kanmadi, CPRO of South Western Railway, the train is currently with BEML for final tests and will be handed over to Indian Railways after all approvals are received.
