Ghaziabad Junction to Host First Vande Bharat Sleeper Stop
Ghaziabad Junction will host its first-ever Vande Bharat stop starting Oct 31 with the new Varanasi-New Delhi Sleeper service.

In a major boost for local commuters, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Ghaziabad stop is officially on the horizon. Ghaziabad Junction is set to make history by hosting its very first scheduled halt for a Vande Bharat train, marking a significant milestone in the region's rail connectivity.
A Historic Milestone for Ghaziabad
For the first time, passengers in the Ghaziabad area will no longer need to travel all the way to New Delhi to access the premium Vande Bharat services. While several high-speed Vande Bharat trains have passed through the Ghaziabad route in the past, none were assigned a scheduled stoppage at the station until now.
New Varanasi-New Delhi Service Details
The upcoming Varanasi to New Delhi Vande Bharat Sleeper service is the train that will break this trend. Scheduled to begin operations on October 31, the train has been allotted a two-minute stoppage at Ghaziabad Junction. This short halt will provide much-needed convenience for travelers looking to board the sleeper service locally.
Ending the Era of Non-Stop Transit
Previously, several prominent Vande Bharat services utilized the Ghaziabad route but offered no boarding facilities at the junction. These included:
- The Varanasi–New Delhi Vande Bharat
- The Ayodhya Cantt–Anand Vihar Vande Bharat
- The Dehradun–Anand Vihar Vande Bharat
With the introduction of this new sleeper service, the Indian Railways is ensuring that the luxury and efficiency of the Vande Bharat brand are directly accessible to the residents of Ghaziabad.
