Vande Bharat Sleeper Hits 130 km/h: Key Routes & Features

Indian Railways has officially integrated the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express into its active network, with the high-speed trainsets now operating at a maximum commercial speed of 130 km/h. This move marks a major step forward in the modernization of the nation's rail infrastructure, offering a premium overnight travel experience.

Engineering and Speed Capabilities

The sleeper variant was developed through a partnership with BEML, with critical design support provided by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai. While these trainsets have undergone rigorous testing by the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) and the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) to reach speeds of up to 180 km/h, they are currently capped at a 130 km/h commercial speed on compliant tracks.
