Indian Railways changes timings for two Vande Bharat trains from September 2

Indian Railways has announced a schedule revision for two popular semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Express trains operating on the Varanasi-Ranchi and Varanasi-Deoghar routes. These updated timings are intended to improve overall operational efficiency and will officially take effect on September 2, 2026. The Northern Railway zone has notified these modifications for the Varanasi station, while the South Eastern Railway manages the operations and maintenance of the Varanasi-Ranchi service. Passengers are strongly advised to verify the updated departure times before finalizing their travel arrangements to avoid any inconvenience.

Indian Railways has adjusted the departure schedules by 10 minutes for both services:

- Varanasi-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express will depart 10 minutes earlier at 15:55.

- Varanasi-Deoghar Vande Bharat Express will also depart 10 minutes earlier at 06:10.

- Timings for all subsequent stations along both routes remain completely unchanged.

Varanasi-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express Timings

For the Varanasi-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20888), the departure time from Varanasi will shift from 16:05 to 15:55, occurring 10 minutes earlier than the current schedule. This train operates on all days except Tuesday, covering a distance of 536 kilometers in 7 hours and 50 minutes. Its designated stops include Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Sasaram, Gaya, Koderma, Hazaribagh Road, Parasnath, Bokaro Steel City, and Muri. It is important to note that the schedules for all stations following Varanasi remain completely unchanged.

Varanasi-Deoghar Vande Bharat Express Timings

Similarly, the Varanasi-Deoghar Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 22500) will now depart Varanasi at 06:10, instead of its previous departure time of 06:20. This adjustment also represents a 10-minute advancement from the existing schedule to streamline operations. Just like the Ranchi service, the timing for all subsequent stations along the Varanasi-Deoghar route remains unaffected. Travellers should keep these minor adjustments in mind to ensure a smooth journey.
