The Ministry of Railways has permanently increased the number of coaches in the Vande Bharat Express running between Ahmedabad and Mumbai Central. This decision comes to handle the growing number of passengers on this busy route. The change will be effective from April 28, 2026.

The train will now operate with 20 coaches instead of the previous 16. This addition has increased the total seating capacity by 278 seats. According to Vineet Abhishek, CPRO of Western Railway, the four extra coaches include three Chair Car coaches and one Executive Class coach.
